The Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering - IEEE - sponsors the international workshop and exhibition PASSIVE’08.

 

Hyeres, France will be the venue for this first edition of this workshop in 2008. PASSIVE’08 will comprise both a scientific Workshop (oral presentations) and a large State of the Art Exhibition in the field of Passive measurements. Both will take place in the Hyeres downtown cozy conference center “Le Forum du Casino”.

 

If you are working or doing business related to the field of Passive measurements, PASSIVE'08 will offer you:

• a unique opportunity to meet all those internationally involved in science and technologies related to the ocean and passive systems,
• twenty or so booth (9 square meters) to present your company or your work,
• a pleasant place where scientists and people from industry can share ideas and projects, negotiate and develop partnerships,

Hyères, the most southerly city of Provence (and one of the sunniest with its 300 days of sunshine per year), is on the same latitude as Cap Corse and Florence, Italy. The city and its peninsula have 39km of pristine sand beaches and rocky inlets to offer. Hyères, the city of palm trees, is also proud of its islands: the Îles d’Or of Porquerolles, Port Cros and Le Levant.

Hyères is a first class boating center due to its marina and sheltered anchorage. The famous bay of Hyères is a cherished international spot for sailing and water sport competitions and attracts well-known sailors.
